Ghepi supports the Angelo Secchi national conference

On the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Father Angelo Secchi, defined as the greatest astrophysicist of the 1800s, will be held in the Great Hall of the University of Reggio Emilia on the 11 and 12 May 2018 a conference entitled “FATHER ANGELO SECCHI: The man, the works, the astrophysics “.

Jesuit priest, astronomer and Italian geodet, Angelo Secchi was the founder of astronomical spectroscopy and director of the Observatory at the Pontifical Gregorian University for 28 years. He was also the first scientist to classify the stars in spectral classes.

Topics of the conference, organized by assciation BUS 74, will be the countless scientific merits and the life of Father Secchi.
